Giving a little back

We believe there is a moral obligation to give a little back to the community in which we serve. Uvas for the Children was founded as a "Giving back to the Community" project to do just that.
How does it work?
When you come to Uvas you give us the opportunity to provide school supplies and clothing to these four Cozumel students based on their needs.

There are more children in need, and it is our plan to take this endeavor step by step. This is how it will work: For every booking you make at Playa Uvas, your favorite stop for fun, Uvas will give a porcentage of the fee for our project, so, more than ever, we need you to keep on visiting us, tell your friends about us, do anything you can to help us achieve our goal of helping these children. Once we this project going, we will keep you updated on the lives and educational growth of these children by posting photos on our location here in Cozumel, as well as on our website and Facebook.

Jorge

Jorge is 8 years old, he's in the second grade at Eladio Novelo Gil Elementary School.
His father works in a tapestry shop (a family business), but in the last few months he's been sick (he had a kidney removed) and this, together with the economy, has made things pretty bad at his household.
Jorge has 3 sisters and 6 brothers, they live all together in their house.

Raul

Raul is 11 years old; he's in the third grade in the same school as Santiago.
His father works at a business called Cozumel where he makes concrete blocks.
His mother stays home, their home is on a lot where there's other 4 other families.
Raul is Perla's cousin..

Perla

Perla is 10 years old and has 2 younger sisters.
She goes to Eladio Novelo Gil Elementary School and she's in the third grade (morning shift).
Her father repairs tortilla machines and her mother, besides being a homekeeper, works in a tortilla shop called The Three Kings.

Santiago

Santiago is 10 years old.
He's in the third grade at Eladio Novelo Gil Elementary School (afternoon shift), his father bakes bread at San Martin's Bread shop; his mother was working in a resturant.
They live in a small rented home, and they share the lot where the house is on with 5 other families.
